Church Covenant
(Section 2.03, IBC Constitution, 2010)
Each member of this body of believers has agreed to live by the following covenant:
"Having received Christ Jesus as my Lord and Savior and been baptized by immersion, and being in agreement with Ione Baptist's statements, strategy and structure, (Membership Class), and recognizing that all members are ministers, I now feel led by the Holy Spirit to unite with the Ione Baptist Church family. In doing so, I commit myself to God and to the other members to do the following:
A. I will protect the unity of my church

By acting in love toward other members

By refusing to gossip or sow discord

By following the leadership
(Rom. 14:19; 15:5; I Peter 1:22; Eph. 4:29; Heb. 13:17)
B. I will share the responsibility of my church

By praying for its growth

By inviting the unchurched to attend

By warmly welcoming those who visit
(I Thess. 1:2; Luke 14:23; Rom. 15:17)
C. I will serve the ministry of my church

By discovering my gifts and talents through active ministry

By being equipped to serve by my pastor / elders

By developing a servant's heart
(I Peter 4:10; Eph. 4:11-12; Phil. 2:4,5,7)
D. I will support the ministry of my church

By attending faithfully

By living a godly life

By giving regularly and joyfully
